If you’ve been told several times that “it’s important to generate leads” and didn’t understand what to do, then you’re in the right place!
After all, what is a lead?
A lead, in Digital Marketing, is a consumer potential. In other words, an individual becomes a lead when shows interest in our services/products.
Interest can be shown in various ways, including by subscribe to the newsletter or to fill in a form (such as google forms) to be contacted or to obtain a return. This means that this consumer has taken the initiative to interact with the brand, thus moving up the sales funnel.
In fact, the individual “only” provided their e-mail address. But nowadays, an e-mail is one of the most valuable means of turning a simple contact into a customer.
And if a visitor has taken the initiative, it means that they are interested in finding out more or being contacted. Or do you usually leave your contact details on pages you have no interest in?
It’s important to note that leads aren’t just limited to websites and emails. Leads also refer to contacts on social networks, on blogs or in email marketing campaigns, as long as the “demand” takes an action to be contacted by the “offer”.
But why do we have to generate leads?
How many visits does your site receive each month? Does everyone who visits leave information for future contact? The answer may not even be 100% positive.
But if they actually left this data, your sales team would be very happy, right? Because instead of buying the best equipment to go fishing, the fish jumped into their boat!
Of course people don’t give their email address to every website they visit. On the other hand, there are sites where they feel very influenced to leave all their contact details and then some. On others, they don’t even know how to navigate. It all depends on what they put on the hook… So the keywords become: attraction and content.
It’s no coincidence that most digital marketing strategies today involve ATTRACTING visitors through CONTENT and turning them into LEADS.
But that’s another story altogether and will have to be left for a future post..
