Halloween isn’t traditionally celebrated in our country, but we’ve already adopted it and incorporated it into our festive traditions. While it’s still quite different from the American or British traditions, it’s nonetheless a key opportunity to engage with the public, whether B2B or B2C customers.
Here are our practical tips: a step-by-step guide to maximizing engagement rates.

1. Look for Inspiration
All our work starts with research, so this is our first tip. More than just an influence, your research should be seen as guidance, and, in most cases, as motivation, isn’t it amazing to see the amount of incredible content that’s already been produced? To speed up the process, here’s a blog post that will help us a lot
: crello.com/blog/creative-halloween-designs.
2. Planning and preparation
"Since Halloween is on October 31st, I still have time", this thought will be your worst nightmare (how about that pun?). If you decide that Halloween is an important time for your social media or page, focus on the following issues now:
- What are you going to do?
- When will you do it?
- What resources do you need?
- human
- physical and logistical
- Financial

3. Taking photos and videos
Content featuring your team typically performs much better (compared to posts without employees). However, we know it’s not always easy to convince your employees to, for example, dress up for a group photo. So you can, for example, decorate your store or office and showcase your creations on the 31st!
Very important: if you choose to set up a candy “station,” place a sign with rules and hand sanitizer nearby.
4. Design
This is the best way to make your presence felt on social media with minimal resources. After all, all you need is a computer, internet access, and some creativity! Start by choosing the "focus" of your post (depending on what you’re publishing), then select an image from a free stock site like Shutterstock
(which offers 10 free images).
Then try
Canva,
a free and easy-to-use app for creating professional-quality designs, already optimized for various channels (Instagram posts, Instagram Stories, Facebook covers, blogs…). If you choose step 3, you can also use Canva to edit your photo or video.

6. Post Ideas
The main thing is to remember that this day isn’t about your business, it’s about Halloween! Discounts with fun promo codes (#scary; #spooky…), be creative with your hashtags; Facebook polls; questions on Instagram Stories; themed playlist recommendations; horror movie suggestions; spine-chilling GIFs… are all totally valid!
7. The Text
Likewise, words like: scary, horrible, creepy, dark, or horrifying are totally welcome on this date! And emojis too!
If words aren’t your thing, we suggest you look up one of the many typical quotes or verses (don’t forget to name the author when you publish).
Now, have fun creating and then just schedule your content!
