If the Social Media Hackathon, a Swonkie initiative, were a Netflix miniseries, it would have all the attributes of a good production: charismatic characters, technological plot twists, inspiring scripts and a good dose of algorithm drama.
For two intense days, the Up We Go team immersed itself in this universe where social networks were the main script and digital marketing was the stage where everything happened.

Episode 1- The protagonists enter the scene
On the very first day of the Social Media Hackathon, the line-up of speakers included: Roberto Cortezfilipe Coelho, Paola Brescianini, Paulo Rossas, João Almeida, Roberto Gomes, Adri da Silva, Pauline Joherem, Helena Dias, Diogo Leal and Helena Coelho, brought us different perspectives, from the most technical to the most emotional, which mixed strategy, authenticity and innovation, reminding us that behind every metric there is always a story and behind every algorithm, a human intention.
A veritable marathon of insights into the present and future of digital marketing.
The spirit of this initiative was contagious and amid a lot of knowledge sharing (and Instagram sharing, of course), we realized that marketing is, at its heart, a story told by several voices and that the best results come when those voices listen to each other.
Social networks are constantly changing, but the human connection remains the best algorithm for leveraging brands.
Episode 2 – The Algorithm Strikes Again
On the second day, the algorithm played its part and once again delivered rigorous protagonists such as: Renata Aron, Kelwin Fernandes, Helena Dias, João Cortinhas, Selada de Fruta with Cristiano Silva, Daniel Godinho, Vasco Marques, Frederico Carvalho, Pedro Aguiar, Rodrigo Basto and Marta Carvalho.
Amid debates about the rise of AI, the balance between data and emotion, and the importance of authenticity in the digital environment, the premise remained that the algorithm may dictate the rules of the game, but it’s up to each content creator to write their own script.
Final Episode. Insights Social Media Hackathon: The Future
If this miniseries had a second season, a Up We Go without hesitation.
The Social Media Hackathon is not just an event, but a powerful reminder that digital can (and should) be innovative, human and collaborative.
We came away with new ideas and a certainty: when creativity and strategy go hand in hand, there is only one way forward: Up We Go.
