Summer is vacation time… for people, not for marketing strategies. If you think that no one cares about communication during the summer, think again, the opposite is true. The fact is that activity on social networks tends to increase during the vacation season.
Today we bring you 6 tips so that you don't abandon your channels and one guarantee: you'll love tip #1.
#1 Plan and Schedule
We don’t want you to give up on communication, but we want you to go on vacation!
It’s all about planning and tools. Before you go on vacation, decide what you’re going to post and use the following tools to schedule it:
- Swonkie – to schedule social media posts;
- Mailchimp – to schedule newsletters;
- WordPress – to schedule blog posts.
If you're looking for solutions just for social media, check out the article "Social Media in Summer."
#2 Positive memory
Our brains have the incredible ability to associate certain impressions with the mood of the moment. Let’s take a practical example: the two people in the image below are reading exactly the same post. Which of the two do you think will be more likely to move on to the next stage in the sales process?
The action may not happen immediately, but the idea of what they read will be associated with the moment they were in. Sow to reap…

#3 Less formal, lighter
June, August, and part of September are part of the silly season, this concept refers to the months when the news is less serious because there isn’t as much content, especially economic and political, to fill the newspapers.
Go with the flow and post light, fresh, and fun content.
When in doubt, put yourself in the customer’s shoes (or slippers): imagine yourself on the beach, what would catch your eye? That’s right, save the data and statistics for October.
#4 Advertising yes, but on social media
During the vacation period, customer searches tend to differ in terms of topics, times, and even the websites they visit.
You can use this tip and Google retargeting to reach people who have already interacted with your website, advertising where they are: on social media. Engage your followers!
#5 The Children
They may not have social media accounts, but they have a tremendous influence. Since the little ones are on vacation, take the opportunity to include them in your content.
For example, if you run a medical practice, post about the importance of scheduling an appointment during the holidays, since there are no scheduling conflicts; if you have a store, invite parents to visit and offer a surprise for the children…
#6 Put "summer" on everything
Whatever your business, find themes that make sense in summer and use visual elements typical of the season, such as buoys, beach balls, or ice cream.
If you have a hair salon, try posts with tips for taking care of hair after swimming; if you have a cell phone store, teach customers how to care for their devices during hot weather…
